Influences: My wife is one of the biggest influences in my life. God has used her as a tool to bring about change and re-birth in my life. The book of Matthew is a big influence for how I try to live my life; notice I said try.

Epic Moments: It had to be when I ran in a burning building and saved a family of eight by caring them to safety one by one on my back. Ok so that did not happen yet. I’m still waiting for something truly epic like this.

Favorite band/music: I love old school rap from the 80’s and 90’s.

Favorite books/authors: Velvet Elvis* Rob Bell, Starving Jesus* Craig Gross| J.R. Mahon, The Signature of Jesus* Brennan Manning: WARNING- Do not read this book if you want to live comfortable.

Favorite movie: Good Will Hunting: It reminds me of my friends. 300: I love the idea of dying for something you love other then yourself.

Favorite food: My mom’s southern fried chicken – Black iron skillet, Crisco oil, chicken with the skin, flower, salt and pepper. Fried until golden brown. The best part is when you add flower to the cooking grease and use it for gravy. Can anyone say heart attack?

Spare time: Sitting on the porch with my wife, son and my in-laws just talking. Sitting in the woods with a bow and arrow.

Fear factors: Walking through the woods right into a spider web which leaves a huge hairy spider on my face.

Motivation: The knowledge that God can use me in all my brokenness to accomplish something way beyond anything I could ever do.

Dream yet to come true: My dream has come true. I have a wonderful wife and a three great children, life is not picture perfect nor would I want it to be. I get to live an adventure that is so beyond myself by getting to know the overlooked and under loved in our community, and then having them bless me with the love and realness that can only come from someone that knows they are broken and need of help. We can all learn a lot from people like this.
