“ One of my mottos is 'Nothing happens by coincidence,' everything is planned by God. It's so exciting to look back and see His plan; leading and preparing me for the opportunity to minister to children and families here at Calvary. What a privilege it is to be used by God to help children grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Him, and build meaningful connections with Christian mentors. I'm blessed to work with volunteers who share this same passion, and devote their time and energy to Children's Ministry.”
We strive to express the importance of worshipping together as a family at one service on Sunday, and serving in one ministry a week, with our Worship 1 Serve 1 focus. It is my prayer that families will recognize the importance of establishing this habit as soon as their family is ready, so children understand the importance of learning and worshipping together.
World Magazine recently published an article stating “The very things that unite young people, IE media and technology, divide them from adults. They learn the day's conversation topics from a social media website, not the dinner table. They go to YouTube for direction on how to change the oil in the car, not Dad... Even in our Christian circles adults often are no longer a treasury of wisdom and experience for children but a directory of services”. I hope Calvary can be the exception, and as a community of believers we can adhere to the Baptismal Promise of praying for, instructing, and supporting children and their families as they grow in their faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Lisa has been married to her husband Steve for 25 years. They have three children and have been members of Calvary since 1987. As a family they enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and being on or under the water(scuba diving!).
