Serving Descriptions

 

This isn't the Sunday School of 20 years ago!

We use many avenues to teach God's Word to children on Sunday mornings. We address different learning styles using the gifts, talents, and experience of many people to make Kid Zone a unique and exciting learning environment.

If you are interested in teaching, or an area other than teaching, can help every week or on a rotation schedule,check out the following opportunities and join us for an amazing year of ministry.

General Children's Ministry - OpportunitiesSpecial Needs Assistant

  • Responsibilities: Mentor or buddy with a child who needs a little extra help in ministry activities.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on Sunday mornings weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Kid Zone Bible Memory Coordinator

  • Responsibilities: To help coordinate Kid Zone Bible Memory program for Preschool-2nd grade and/or 3rd-6th grade. Would teach a new Bible verse monthly within a variety of ways; songs, motions, games, etc.
  • Time Commitment: Prep at home for up-front ministry and 20 minutes during each Kid Zone hour 1 Sunday/month (October -May).

A/V Techs

  • Responsibilities: Manage audio/video equipment during Kid Zone activities and Worship Time. Training is provided.
  • Time Commitment: May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule. Approx. 45 minutes during the 9a.m. or 10:30a.m. Kid Zone hours.

Office Help - General

  • Responsibilities: Help Children's Director with office help and special projects, on week days.
  • Time Commitment: Flexible, as needed.

Artists/Photographers

  • Responsibilities: Design bulletin boards, create publicity posters, and chronicle events with pictures of the kids.
  • Time Commitment: As needed.

Special Op's Event Planning Team

  • Responsibilities: Assist in planning and coordinating special events for K-6th grade a few times throughout the year.
  • Time Commitment: As needed.

Cleaning Crew

  • Responsibilities: Disinfect toys and other equipment in the Nursery and Two's Room.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 2 hours on a weekday(flexible), monthly or on a rotation schedule.

Infant & Toddler Ministry - Opportunities Sunday MorningInfant & Toddler Nursery Worker

  • Responsibilities: To arrive 20 minutes prior to service and take care of infants and toddlers in the Nursery during one of the services.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on a Sunday morning. May serve as often as desired.

Two's Church Teacher

  • Responsibilities: Using the provided curriculum, prepare and teach a lesson each week to the two year olds during one of the morning services.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on a Sunday morning. May serve as often as desired.

Wednesday Night Family Night Nursery

  • Responsibilities: To provide child care for the children of parents, who are serving or participating in a Bible Study, at church on Wednesday nights.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on Wednesday nights. 6:30-8:00p.m. May serve as often as desired.

Pre-School Ministry - OpportunitiesPre-School Lead Teacher

  • Responsibilities: Using the provided curriculum, prepare and teach a lesson each week, to the 3 & 4 year olds during one of the Sunday morning services.
  • Time Commitment: Minimal prep at home and Sunday mornings from 8:45-10:15a.m.(9:00a.m. service) or 10:15-11:45a.m. (10:30a.m. service). May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Wednesday Night KinderClub Asst. Teacher/Helper

  • Responsibilities: Assist the Kinder Club Teacher with the 3-5 year olds whose parents are serving or participating in a Bible Study, at church on Wednesday nights.
  • Time Commitment: approx. 1 1/2 hours on Wednesday nights. 6:30-8:00p.m. May serve every week or on a rotation schedule.

Elementary Ministry - OpportunitiesGreeters

  • Responsibilities: Arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of Kid Zone hour to welcome kids as they arrive each week and help them feel special.
  • Time commitment: Approx. 30 minutes on Sunday mornings. May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Rovers

  • Responsibilities: Help where the need arises throughout the education hour.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on a Sunday morning. 8:45a.m.-10:15a.m. or 10:15a.m.-11;45a.m. May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Music/Worship Leaders

  • Responsibilities:Help plan and lead fun-filled meaningful praise and worship time.
  • Commitment: Approx. 25 minutes on Sunday mornings during the 9a.m. and/or 10:30a.m. Kid Zone hours. May serve as often as desired.

Discovery Center Helpers

  • Responsibilities: Assist small groups and their leaders in lesson based games, crafts, and activities.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 hour on Sunday mornings; 9-10:00a.m. or 10:30-11:30a.m.. May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Kid Zone Team Captains

  • Responsibilities: Assist Kid Zone Team volunteers with various needs up at the Lodge (3-6th gr.) or Upstairs (pre-school-2nd gr.) during one of the Kid Zone hours.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on Sunday mornings; 8:45-10:15a.m. or 10:15-11:45a.m. May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.

Kindergarten -6th Grade Kid Zone Small Group Teachers

  • Responsibilities: Using the provided curriculum, prepare and teach a lesson each week during one of the Kid Zone hours.
  • Time Commitment: Approx. 1 1/2 hours on Sunday mornings; 8:45-10:15a.m. or 10:15-11:45a.m. May serve weekly or on a rotation schedule.
